Beyond The Pale

This video appeared on You Tube a couple of days ago.

The account was created by NHLiberty4RonPaul who joined YouTube the day he posted this atrocious attack video.  This is what Ron Paul fans have resorted to....attacking a man because he chose to adopt abandoned little girls from a country that generally puts unwanted girl babies TO DEATH! Attacking a man because he speaks a foreign language?  How many of you Utah Ron Paul supporters went on your mission to a foreign country?  How many of YOU speak a foreign language?  Doesn't that make YOUR motives suspect?  In the eyes of your fellow Ron Paul supporters it does?

It's so bad that Congressman Paul himself rightly called it "disgusting".  But that has not stopped his followers from trashing Huntsman in the comments on the YouTube Channel page.  His defenders will tell you that this was not done by anyone supporting Paul - that it came from (are you ready for this?) the Huntsman camp?  Seriously?  Do you honestly think that someone who clearly loves these girls to death would use his own children in so vile a manner?  If so you have really sunken into the furthest depths of conspiracy theory fanaticism.

This is a big reason why many traditional Republicans do dislike Ron Paul....his supporters are mean, vile people who will trash anyone and everyone (more on that mentality to come) who stands in their way.  Then, when their antics are rightly and roundly rejected it is all part of some "grand conspiracy" to silence their guy.

The reality is that Ron Paul's policies are popular with the more libertarian leaning people in our country - but the majority of this country does not lean libertarian.  Rightly or not, they want to keep illegal drugs illegal - they want to keep prostitution illegal and out of their neighborhoods....they reject the vast majority of the libertarians social beliefs.  The way to change their beliefs is not to attack and throw tantrums and blame like a bunch of spoiled children who didn't get their way.  The way to change their beliefs is to engage in conversation and dialog...and when the conversation does not go your way, don't get pissy and start calling people names.  Calmly explain why you think they are wrong and if need be - agree to disagree....sometimes that is all you can do.
